Vijayawada: TDP national president N Chandrababu Naidu on Monday said good days are ahead for the people of Andhra Pradesh as the upcoming elections will see formation of a government by the National Democratic Alliance (NDA).
Exuding confidence that TDP, Jana Sena Party and BJP will sweep the elections, he said during Ugadi celebrations organised at the party headquarters at Mangalagiri near here that contrary to the rumours, the new government will not scrap the volunteer system. He said the volunteers should not act as agents of the YSRCP government and advised them to remain independent. He said the TDP-led government will try for their skill development so that all of them could be absorbed in government service with a salary up to Rs 50,000 per month. He said some of the volunteers will also be offered work from home.
Naidu took exception to the claim by Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy that he is giving Rs 5,000 per month to 2.6 lakh to volunteers across the State, saying he is giving the honorarium from the tax-payers’ money. He said he should stop talking as if the State is his ‘Jagir.’
CM takes part in Ugadi fete
Jagan Mohan Reddy and wife YS Bharati took part in Ugadi celebrations at Gantavaripalem in Savalyapuram mandal in Palnadu district, taking a break from the Memantha Siddham Yatra. YSRCP Narasaraopet MP candidate Anil Kumar Yadav, Vinukonda MLA Bolla Brahma Reddy and others were present. Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said the people will give a decisive mandate to the YSRCP in the elections in recognition of the welfare schemes being undertaken by the government during past five years.
